The KLCC Group’s commitment to sustainability is rooted in our core values: integrity, excellence, collaboration, and stewardship. These principles shape how we design spaces, manage assets, build partnerships, and contribute to Malaysia’s long-term socio-economic progress. Beginning with our leadership, our principles are reinforced through clear priorities, measurable targets, and transparent reporting.

As we expand, starting from the heart of Kuala Lumpur City Centre to encompass all our operations, we remain focused on delivering sustainable growth for stakeholders, resilient business performance, and a positive impact across all the communities we touch.

Our Sustainability Framework

At The KLCC Group, sustainability is a core principle guiding every decision. Aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda and global standards, our four‑pillar framework—Planet, People, Peace and Prosperity—balances growth with environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

Our Contribution to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

The KLCC Group advances the UN Sustainable Development Goals by focusing on priorities aligned with our purpose and strategy. Our subsidiaries’ sustainability reports apply the World Economic Forum’s Stakeholder Capitalism Metrics and align with the UN 2030 Agenda.

Sustainability Governance

At The KLCC Group, we support the Boards of KLCCP and KLCCRM—the ultimate authority for sustainability and climate governance across the Group—by turning their direction into strategy and action. Working with the Board Risk Committees (BRCs), we embed sustainability, including climate‑related priorities and targets, into business plans and track delivery. Our CEO leads implementation and provides quarterly updates to the BRCs and the Boards, seeking guidance on material matters.

We coordinate the Sustainability Steering Committee, chaired by the Senior General Manager, Group Strategy & Sustainability, with representation from division heads and operating units. Supported by GSS and the ESG Department as secretariat, we oversee the day‑to‑day management of sustainability and climate initiatives, ensuring a holistic, risk‑aware approach across the Group.

Addressing What Matters Most

The KLCC Group’s focus is shaped by our Materiality Assessment, ensuring that we prioritise the ESG matters most relevant to our business, stakeholders, and long-term value creation. These priorities reflect where we can drive meaningful impact, be it from climate action and operational efficiency to employee wellbeing, community upliftment, and responsible governance.

Each focus area is aligned with our Sustainability Plan 2030 and the Group’s four strategic pillars. As our operating landscape evolves, we continuously reassess material themes to remain adaptive, relevant, and aligned with emerging risks, opportunities, and global best practices.

Materiality Approach

At The KLCC Group, we shape our agenda around issues that matter to our stakeholders, with ongoing engagement central to our approach. We identify and prioritise material sustainability matters through a four‑step process:

Step 1: Identification

The KLCC Group began with horizon scanning, benchmarking against industry standards, and assessing key risks and opportunities to identify material sustainability matters. The list was then consolidated to include Bursa Malaysia’s Prescribed Common Sustainability Matters, resulting in 13 material matters for the Group.

Step 2: Prioritisation

The Company prioritised the identified material sustainability matters by evaluating their economic, environmental and social impact in line with the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management guidelines, and by incorporating insights from a targeted stakeholder survey to understand stakeholder influence on assessments and decisions. Stakeholders were then prioritised based on their influence and dependence on The KLCC Group’s business, in line with Bursa Malaysia guidelines.

Step 3: Validation

Both the process and the outcome of the materiality assessment were reviewed and approved by The KLCC Group Sustainability Steering Committee and the Boards.

Step 4: Matrix

The results of all prior processes culminated in the Materiality Matrix for The KLCC Group.

Materiality Matrix

The KLCC Group has identified 13 material matters across the four sustainability pillars and they're assessed through a disciplined process. Results are consolidated into a materiality matrix to guide focus and reporting.

Stakeholder Prioritisation

Stakeholders were ranked based on their influence and dependency on the business. Five prioritised stakeholder groups were then engaged through a material sustainability survey.

Weighted Stakeholder Assessment

To assess the influence of sustainability matters on stakeholder decision‑making, each stakeholder group was assigned a weighting derived from the stakeholder prioritisation process.

Influence Scoring

The influence of each sustainability matter on stakeholder decision‑making is expressed as a weighted score, reflecting its relative impact across stakeholder groups.

Significance of Sustainability Impacts

Significance reflects the risks and impacts our business causes to the environment and external stakeholders. We assess it using the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Guideline, where risk is rated as likelihood × severity across three sustainability dimensions—economic, environmental and social.

Where the Greatest Impact is Made

The KLCC Group’s focus is shaped by our Materiality Assessment, ensuring that we prioritise the ESG matters most relevant to our business, stakeholders, and long-term value creation. Each focus area is aligned with our Sustainability Plan 2030 and the Group’s four strategic pillars. As our operating landscape evolves, we continuously reassess material themes to remain adaptive, relevant, and aligned with emerging risks, opportunities, and global best practices.
