Don’t Fall Prey to Job Scams

PETRONAS’ name and logo have been used without permission in job advertisements circulating on social media and instant messaging apps such as Tiktok, WhatsApp and Telegram.

There have also been unauthorised emails which solicit upfront fees for application of immigration documents such as visas or work permits for expatriate postings within the PETRONAS Group.

We urge everyone to be vigilant and not respond to such fraudulent advertisements and emails. As job recruitment scams grow prevalent online, here are a few reminders to help you stay alert:

Validate the source - Ensure that any information on PETRONAS career opportunities is from either our Careers portal at https://www.petronas.com/careers, or our official social channels.

Never send money - PETRONAS and its recruitment agencies do not request upfront payment of any kind for vacancies.

Check the communication style - If a job ad is poorly written with grammar and spelling errors, and vague job descriptions — it is most likely a scam.

Be wary of guaranteed income - PETRONAS does not make any job offers without first going through formal interview processes.

Protect your personal information - Do not disclose any details if you are in doubt of the legitimacy of an offer.

1. All recruitment-related emails from KLCC will only be sent by our authorized personnel using the official domain @klcc.com when responding to your application.

2. From time to time, we may also advertise job openings on trusted third-party platforms (e.g., Linkein/ JobStreet).

3. KLCC may engage professional headhunters or executive search firms to help identify and attract suitable candidates for specific roles.
